Suresh Manickavel, MD

Dr. Suresh Manickavel is a physician cum pulmonologist who specializes in treating and managing patients undergoing lung and heart transplantation. He is trained in the management of advanced pulmonary diseases including severe interstitial lung diseases, end-stage COPD, and pulmonary hypertension.

Dr. Manickavel is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS), and basic life support (BLS).

He has great critical care experience which encompasses looking after patients with cardiorespiratory failure requiring ECMO and mechanical circulatory support devices. Dr. Manickavel also boasts of several interventional bronchoscopic skills such as EBUS, endobronchial stents, balloon dilatation, cryotherapy, APC, and electrocautery.

Having worked in a variety of settings which include hospitals, clinics, military, telemedicine as well as academia, Dr. Manickavel is adept at multiple aspects of health care. In addition to being a seasoned pulmonologist, critical care consultant, lung transplant physician, he is also employed as Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Miami-Miller School of Medicine with his prime subject being Transplant Pulmonology.
