Read moreDr. Henry Herrera Jr. is a medical doctor who is double board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Texas Pan-American and obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and then his fellowship in gastroenterology at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Temple, Texas.
Dr. Herrera is trained in advanced endoscopy, including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). He serves as gastroenterology attending physician for the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s GI Fellowship training program.
Dr. Herrera is active in research and has done presentations at various conferences, including the American College of Gastroenterology Annual Meeting, Advances in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, and Digestive Disease Week.
