Rachel Tarkowski, RDN, CD

Rachel Tarkowski is a registered dietitian nutritionist who provides medical nutrition therapy for patients in post/subacute and transitional care settings.

Rachel obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Pittsburgh in 2019. While there, she served as a GDM2 Research Volunteer, performing ASA24 dietary recalls on clients with gestational diabetes via telephone. She also assisted each client in establishing healthy nutrition habits and provided nutritional knowledge.

Rachel previously worked as a nutrition instructor for 412 Food Rescue. She educated senior citizens on nutrition label reading, MyPlate, and other nutritional guidelines according to the Cooking Matters curriculum. She led grocery store tours, prepared challenges for the seniors, and worked with the American Heart Association to control blood pressure via sodium consumption.

Currently, Rachel is a dietitian nutritionist for Dietitian Consulting Services LLC. She ensures that the dietary policies and procedures are followed and are adapted to meet the individual needs of each facility she serves. She also performs kitchen checks to ensure the facility is meeting ServSafe standards.

Rachel is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and holds certifications in BLS, CPR, AED, and first aid.
