Sunny Patel, MD

Dr. Sunny Patel is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He serves as the clinical consultant in gastroenterology, hepatology, and therapeutic endoscopy at a large tertiary care referral center in Arizona.

Dr. Patel received his combined undergraduate and medical degree from the Medical University of Lublin. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the New York City Health + Hospitals Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center, where he also served as the chief resident. He completed his gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at the New York Medical College Metropolitan Hospital. He then completed his advanced endoscopy training at the Arizona Centers for Digestive Health.

Dr. Patel is fellowship trained in advanced therapeutic endoscopy with a special interest in pancreatobiliary disease. He performs advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), placement of endoluminal stent, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), and complex polypectomy.

Dr. Patel is fluent in English and Gujarati. He also speaks conversational Hindi and basic Spanish.
