Alternative Text

Dr. Steven Collins is a practicing doctor of oriental medicine since 2001 and has made quite a niche for himself among his peers and patients. He has garnered extensive experience and understanding of both Eastern and Western schools of medical practice over the years.

Dr. Collins is particularly adept at acupuncture, tui na, and qi kung and uses these and other tools from the toolbox of Chinese medicine for treating diverse complaints including pain of all sorts, fatigue, and “sticky” diseases. He incorporates the best of both European and oriental medicine to treat his patients holistically, which is perhaps the hallmark of his professional ethos.

Before practicing Chinese medicine, Dr. Collins was a paramedic, an RN, and the director of education at Highlands Hospital in North Carolina as well as the director of continuing education for Valencia College in Florida. Thereafter, he moved to Minnesota to pursue his master’s degree in acupuncture from one of the leading schools of Chinese medicine in the country, Northwestern Health Sciences University. After graduating in 2001, he was invited to serve on the faculty of the said institution, where he developed the curricula and taught Western medicine, pharmacology, and ethics to oriental medicine students.

On receiving his board certification, Dr. Collins made his foray into private practice, which flourished for a decade before he decided to move back to Florida. Thereafter, he served as faculty as well as an attending physician at the East-West College of Natural Medicine, while running a successful private practice.

Dr. Collins has lectured and been published both locally and nationally, addressing diverse aspects of Chinese medicine including tui na, advanced needling, herb-drug interaction, effective acupuncture techniques, and patient communication. In 2007, he was inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame. Dr. Collins received his doctorate in acupuncture and oriental medicine in 2018 from the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale.
