Dr. Mahboob Alam’s clinical expertise includes interventional and general cardiology. He is actively involved in the management of complex and high-risk coronary artery disease, structural heart disease, and hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy. He is also interested in the management of Peripheral arterial and venous diseases.

Dr. Alam’s research interests include Percutaneous coronary interventions in high-risk patients as well as treatment of complex coronary artery disease including unprotected left main and heavy calcification coronary artery disease.

After graduating from The Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan as Best Medical Graduate in 2002, Dr. Alam pursued training in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Interventional Cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine where he currently serves as an Associate Professor of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Alam is also the Director of Interventional Cardiology Research at Baylor Heart Clinic, and Associate Director of Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship training program.
