Hawley Poinsett is a licensed and registered dietitian nutritionist and is the founder and CEO of Let’s Love Food Again. Her passion for food and agriculture led her to earn a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in animal science from the Texas A&M University System and then onto completing a dietetic internship at Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University).

For 14 years, Hawley owned and operated her own nutrition and wellness private practice, where she provided both consumers and corporations with nutritional information to promote overall health. During this time, she gained valuable experience in working with individuals and families suffering from eating disorders.

Hawley is certified in adult weight management and a member of the National Lipid Association. Her experiences cultivated her newfound passion to create health information that leads people to love food and themselves. She is honored to do this through media, speaking engagements, and consulting with food and public health companies. She also shares her insights about food, nutrition, health in general on Twitter (@HawleyP), and Instagram (@letslovefoodagain).

Active in the Texas nutrition community, Hawley has held several leadership positions, including a gubernatorial appointment to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians, legislative director of the Texas Dietetic Association, president of the Austin Dietetic Association, and south region director of the Texas Association of Nutrition and Dietetics. She currently serves the Texas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as a media spokesperson and the Texas Beef Council as a senior manager of nutrition. Additionally, she teaches nutrition and science courses as an adjunct faculty member at Texas State University in San Marcos and Concordia University in Austin.

The city of Austin is home for Hawley and her twin girls, Josie and Grace, and son, Shaw. They love being active together, from hiking and enjoying nature and wildlife to throwing the football and playing basketball. Hawley is also active in the community volunteering with various charities, educating at her children’s schools, and serving in the children and youth ministry at her church.
